Heliconia Rostratta

Ready to completely flip the script on standard floral geometry? Meet Heliconia Rostrata, famously known as the "Hanging Lobster Claw." Unlike its upright cousins that shoot straight toward the sky, this spectacular showstopper does a total 180—cascading downward in a breathtaking, zig-zagging chain of vibrant crimson bracts tipped with splashy neon yellow and green. It’s pure drama in motion. Built for avant-garde designers who want to introduce jaw-dropping vertical movement and fluid, tropical architectural lines, these heavy, dangling clusters transform any space into an exotic jungle installation instantly. Now available at wholesale pricing and farm-to-door delivery!

Do I need to be present for my delivery

UPS MY CHOICE:

How long in advance should I place my order?

You can request a delivery date for an order up to 7 days prior to your special event/occasion. If you have a lot of preparation to do, we advise that you schedule it for 2-3 days before your event so there’s time for your flowers to hydrate, get prepped, and open to the perfect stage.

Something has come up! Can I change my order?

We get it, life is a little crazy. We can modify an existing order if we receive notice within 7 days of the delivery date. Once an order has shipped, we cannot modify it. If you wish to make changes to your order before the 7 day limit, please send an e-mail to info@samisachaflowers.com, with the subject heading CHANGE TO ORDER # and the order number in question.

In the body of the email, please include your order number along with your name, address, contact information and changes you would like to make. You will receive a verification email of the changes made to your order within 7 business days.

Because these blooms naturally spill downward, they are practically born to sit high. Place them at the absolute edge of an elevated mantel display, a towering pedestal centerpiece, or a high shelf. Letting them cascade freely over the rim creates a stunning waterfall effect.

Planning an overhead floral chandelier or a lush ceremony arch? Hang Heliconia Rostrata upside down by their stems from the ceiling grid or arch frame. Their heavy, bright red claws will dangle gracefully above guests’ heads, adding immediate high-fashion texture to the air.

Skip the massive multi-flower arrangements and go ultra-modern. Secure a single, perfect stem of Heliconia Rostrata into a tall, heavy cylinder vase placed on a pedestal. Let the colorful chain drape down the side of the container—it looks like a piece of living, high-end museum art.

These stems are incredibly heavy and top-heavy (or rather, bottom-heavy once they hang!). If you are designing in a vase or using floral foam, ensure your container is heavily weighted with rocks or sand at the bottom so the natural tug of the cascading bloom doesn't tip your whole arrangement forward.

Just like our other tropical bad boys, never put Heliconia Rostrata into a floral refrigerator. Keep them at comfortable room temperature, give the thick stems a fresh angled slice, and lightly mist the waxy red-and-yellow claws daily to keep them looking ultra-glossy and fresh.
