The Dreamer. While white lace is a classic, the soft, periwinkle-blue of this Didiscus is a rare treasure for designers. It carries a serene, hazy quality that instantly softens an arrangement and adds a touch of "English Garden" whimsy. The intricate, umbrella-shaped clusters of star-like florets create a frothy texture that catches the light beautifully, making it an essential "weaver" for high-end bridal and event work. With its sweet, honey-like scent and reliable, branching stems, it’s the sophisticated way to introduce blue tones without overpowering your palette. How long in advance should I place my order?

You can request a delivery date for an order up to 7 days prior to your special event/occasion. If you have a lot of preparation to do, we advise that you schedule it for 2-3 days before your event so there’s time for your flowers to hydrate, get prepped, and open to the perfect stage.

Something has come up! Can I change my order?

We get it, life is a little crazy. We can modify an existing order if we receive notice within 7 days of the delivery date. Once an order has shipped, we cannot modify it. If you wish to make changes to your order before the 7 day limit, please send an e-mail to info@samisachaflowers.com, with the subject heading CHANGE TO ORDER # and the order number in question.

In the body of the email, please include your order number along with your name, address, contact information and changes you would like to make. You will receive a verification email of the changes made to your order within 7 business days.

The First Cut: Give stems a fresh, angled trim (about 2–3 cm) immediately upon arrival to help them drink.

Hydration Station: Place in a clean bucket with room-temperature water and floral food.

Keep it Clean: Strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacteria, which Didiscus is sensitive to.

The Bounce Back: If heads look soft after travel, a few hours in a cool, dark spot with fresh water will firm them up.

Stay Cool: Keep your stash away from direct sun, drafts, and ripening fruit to preserve those delicate lace florets.

Sami's Pro Tip: "Because Didiscus is a branching variety, don't be afraid to snip the smaller lateral blooms! They are perfect for bud vases or boutonnieres, giving you more design bang for your buck."

Hydration is Key: Upon arrival, give the stems a fresh, angled cut of about 2–3 cm to open up the vascular system.

Water Temperature: Place them immediately into clean, room-temperature water.

Cleanliness Matters: Use a clean floral bucket and ensure no foliage is submerged below the waterline, as Didiscus stems can be sensitive to bacteria buildup.

Feed the Blooms: Use a standard floral preservative to help the multiple tiny florets in each "umbel" continue to open and maintain their crisp white color.

The "Wilt" Watch: If the heads appear slightly droopy after transit, they are likely just thirsty. A fresh cut and a few hours in a cool, dark spot will usually help them regain their upright, sturdy posture.

Environment: Keep them away from direct sunlight, drafts, or ripening fruit (which emits ethylene gas) to maximize their vase life.

Sami’s Pro-Tip: Since Didiscus has such beautiful branching stems, don't be afraid to separate the smaller side-shoots for use in bud vases or boutonnieres—it’s like getting two flowers in one!

The "Floating" Technique: Position Didiscus stems so the flower heads sit 2–5 cm above your primary focal flowers. This creates a 3D, ethereal "mist" that adds depth and prevents the arrangement from looking flat.

Embrace the Bend: Unlike the perfectly straight Helios Flame, Didiscus often has a natural, graceful curve to its stems. Use these curves to define the outer "skeleton" of a garden-style bouquet, allowing the flowers to dance toward the viewer.

The "Mini-Bouquet" Hack: Because it is a branching variety, you can snipe off the smaller lateral "button" blooms to use in delicate work like boutonnieres, hair combs, or bud vases.

Color Bridging: Use the crisp white of the Didiscus to bridge the gap between high-contrast colors. It acts as a neutral "buffer," making bold palettes feel more cohesive and expensive.

Negative Space: Don't overcrowd them. Their beauty lies in the intricate, lace-like negative space within the umbel. Give each "umbrella" room to breathe so the star-shaped florets are visible.

Sami's Secret Tip: "If you’re working with a heavy-headed flower like a Garden Rose or a Protea, tuck Didiscus around the base. It softens the 'weight' of the focal flower and makes the whole piece feel like it was just plucked from a meadow."
